Nigeria forward Victor Boniface got off the mark in the Uefa Champions League as his goal aided a 1-0 narrow win for Bayer Leverkusen against AC Milan at the Bay Arena on Tuesday night.
Leverkusen ran out 4-0 victors in their first game away at Feyenoord, while AC Milan were thrashed 3-1 by Liverpool at the San Siro in their previous games.
The disparity in their opening results meant both sides trod cautiously, leaving an exhilarating first-half short of goals as the sides headed into the tunnel on level pegging.
However, it did not take long until Leverkusen found the breakthrough with a lovely combination between Victor Boniface and Jeremie Frimpong, as the former tucked home to put the hosts ahead.
