Bawumia: 'I am confident God can use me for Ghana's good'

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, expressed his unwavering belief in his ability to positively impact Ghana, with divine guidance.

Dr Bawumia emphasised that he sees himself as an instrument for Ghana's advancement, firmly believing that God has a purpose for him in serving the nation.

During a meeting with clergy members in Takoradi on Thursday, May 2, as part of his Western regional campaign tour, Dr Bawumia spoke about his upbringing in Walewale and how it shaped his conviction that he was destined to contribute to Ghana's welfare.

Addressing the clergy, Dr Bawumia stressed the importance of their role in maintaining peace in the country's political landscape.

He urged them to intercede against politicians who might seek to undermine national harmony for their own political interests.

The Vice President also underscored the significance of religious tolerance, highlighting that his respect for all religions was deeply rooted in his upbringing.

Dr Bawumia emphasised the need for collaboration between religious institutions and the government to tackle the nation's developmental challenges.

In this regard, Dr Bawumia pledged to work closely with the church to address various issues affecting the country, including social and economic development.

The NPP flagbearer expressed his readiness to engage in constructive dialogue and partnerships to find effective solutions.

“I believe that I can do something for Ghana.

I believe God uses everybody that he wants to use to change the society…I believe that something good can come from Walewale and if God says that it should come from Walewale it will come from Walewale,” he said.
