Akufo-Addo appoints Hebert Krapa as new board chair of ECG - MyJoyOnline

President Akufo-Addo has appointed Deputy Minister for Energy, Herbert Krapa as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

Gadzeko, who had chaired the electricity company since his appointment in 2017 by then Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, resigned from his role in a letter addressed to President Akufo-Addo

The latest development comes at a time when Ghana's energy sector is facing some challenges, with the Electricity Company of Ghana being chastised for its inability to keep the power on consistently.

Already, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has directed the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to present to it a comprehensive report of its operations in relation to tariff revenue allocation, regulatory audit data and operational matters, among others by close of day April 2, 2024.
