The Church of Pentecost in Yendi in the Northern region has renovated and handed over the Kandin Health center to the chiefs and people of the area.

The GHC10,143.00 renovation was fully funded by The Church of Pentecost.

The renovated medical facility had been in a very dilapidated state for about fifteen  years after its roof was ripped off by a storm and parts of it was broken.

It was left in this ramshackle state until the arrival of Overseer Peter Abdulai Kweku Darlinting  in August 2016.

The renovated health facility, which is under the Kandin sub-district, will facilitate healthcare delivery for twenty-two (22) communities and a projected population of 10,398 people.

It will also serve an estimated 2,496 women in fertility age while some 416 pregnant women are expected to deliver there also in 2018.

According to the District Director of health, the Church of Pentecost is the first to show interest in supporting and improving healthcare delivery in the history of the Tatale-Sanguli District of the Ghana Health Service.

The current health facility, with its six rooms and one large OPD hall, will provide more ventilation for both health staff and clients and ensure comfort in the delivery of healthcare.

It will also help reduce the burden of accommodation for staff.

Speaking from Genesis 11 on the topic, “What language do you speak”, Overseer Isaac Berko, District minister for Tatale District of the Church of Pentecost, exhorted the chief, elders and people of Kandin to speak the language of unity.

“If the community have a common vision, if you are united and God is with you, all things will be possible for you, he added.

Apostle W. K. Edzorhoho added his voice by asking the people to refrain from speaking the language of corruption, something which he said was currently very rampant in our nation.

Speaking the language of corruption is something that retards the growth and development of most communities, he added.

The chief of Kandin showed his profuse appreciation for the gesture by the Yendi Area of the Church of Pentecost.

He asked that the health team in charge to develop a maintenance culture to preserve the renovated facility.

He also entreated the residents to go for regular medical check-ups to remain healthy.

Overseer Darlington and his wife also donated a 32” LED television and a multi TV dish and decoder for use at the large OPD hall.
