I miss the days when NDC was in power -Gabby Otchere-Darko on #FixTheCountry

Founder of Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has reacted to calls on government to #FixTheCountry.

In a tweet he said, “I don’t know about you, but I miss the NDC in power. Those times when every year petrol prices went up by a quarter. When electricity and water prices also did their best to compete – on top of school fees. They knew how to fix prices.”

This comment follows the #FixTheCountry trend on social media recently.

The hashtag gained popularity on social media after the youth of the country issued a clarion call on government to fix the many challenges in the country including unemployment, health system, the high cost of rent, fuel prices, poor road networks among others.

Many Ghanaian celebrities have joined in the #FixTheCountry online movement and are holding government accountable in these areas of governance so as to safeguard the future of the country and its citizens.

Lawyer Okyere-Darko, however, believes fixing the country is the collective responsibility of the citizenry.

“Several ways of helping fix our country, after 64yrs of under-performance. You must get involved: by finding faults, praising efforts, naming & shaming, getting your hands dirty. In short, by doing something in your own corner. Blame you may, but know you are part of the game,” he said.

He, thus, has called on every member of the country to be proactive in fixing the country.

“No patriot can say he or she is against a clarion call to fix our country. After 64 years, we have have run out of excuses. Let’s get it fixed and fixed now! Together we can!” he said.
