Wolfsburg defender John Brooks returned to Bundesliga action against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday, following four months out with a knee injury.

Brooks was making only his eighth appearance of the season, after a torn thigh tendon sustained in the the opening round of the DFB Cup forced him to miss the Wolves' first nine Bundesliga matches of the 2017/18 campaign.

The 25-year-old's last outing came in the 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig on 12 December 2017.
