We Have Not Cancelled Branch Elections - Kofi Adams
National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says they have not cancelled their branch elections as it is being speculated in the media.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Kofi Adams explained that the elections will go on as planned and will not be affected by any court injunction or whatsoever.

"There are some few branches who did not follow due diligence in the election processes so we have initiated steps to correct them, but that is not supposed to affect what we are doing", he said.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC fixed April 14 to 30 for the conduct of branch elections across the country in a bid to strengthen the party at the grass root level ahead of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls.

The party directed all its regional and constituency chairmen to ensure that the elections are held within the stipulated period and in accordance with the approved regulations for the conduct of branch executive elections by the party.

The constituency election directorate have been directed to work with the constituency executives in all processes leading to the holding of branch elections.

"Former MP’s, all former appointees (MMDCE’s, Ministers, Staffers etc.) and former party executives at all levels, residents in the constituency must be involved in the supervision of the branch elections.

"When we are done we will be organizing constituency and regional elections which will give way for the organization of national elections", he added.

The exercise is being undertaken in all branches of the party in the country.
