Aduana chief Albert Commey questions Kenichi's tactics after ASEC defeat

Aduana Stars Chief Executive Officer Albert Commey has questioned coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s tactical approach in the wake of their home defeat to ASEC Mimosas that ended their hopes of reaching the quarter-final of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ghanaian champions were beaten 2-0 in Dormaa in what was their first ever home defeat in continental competition by the Ivorian champions thanks to first-half goals from Gbagnon Anicet Badie and Braciano Ta Bi.

The result left Aduana on the foot of the table with four points, ruling them out of contention for the next round ahead of the final round. Kenichi Yatsuhashi was appointed Aduana coach in January

And According to Commey, the defeat was as a result of their Japanese-American trainer's wrong tactical approach. He criticised Kenichi for choosing a defensive tactic in a must-win game.

"I think that the team did not gel well," Commey said. "I also have issues with the coach’s system that he played. 4-1-4-1 if you are playing at home I think it is more of a defensive than attacking. Yesterday I asked those questions but he is the coach and he decided to go by those formulas."

"For me, I have to be very honest and praise ASEC Mimosas. In the first leg, we[Aduana] dominated them but they scored one goal, little did I know that they will come and continue what they did by scoring two goals."

Aduana's last game is against Raja Casablanca in Morocco.
