The Ghana Premier League enters matchday 6 with some historic round of fixtures to look out for.

AshantiGold travel to Tarkwa to face in form Medeama SC and Ebusua Dwarfs aim to earn their first points of the season against Dreams.

Elsewhere, Legon Cities will host Bechem United in Accra as WAFA welcome Liberty Professionals to Sogakope.

The last match of the round will be on Monday where Berekum Chelsea will lock horns with Aduana Stars in a top two clash.

Berekum Chelsea v Aduana Stars

Berekum Chelsea are arguably the best Ghana Premier League team so far this season. The Blues have beaten three giants away from home and are one of the two unbeaten sides after five matches (with WAFA).

The 2011 Ghana Premier League winners are the only team to achieve five consecutive clean sheets this season proving that they possess a rock solid backline and an excellent goalkeeper in Ibrahim Danlad.

Chelsea are currently in first place with 13 points (W4 D1). The Berekum-based side will aim to shut out the in form Aduana Stars and maintain the streak on Monday.

Aduana Stars have also been in fine form so far this season and their current 2nd place is a fair reflection. The Ogya boys have earned 12 points from a possible 15 (W4 L1) and have the best attack in the league.

They have scored nine goals, one more than any other team. Yahaya Mohammed can be attributed to most of it, the former Kotoko forward has found the net on six occasions, leaving him on top of the goal scoring charts. He will hope to spoil the clean sheet run of Chelsea and lead his team to another victory.

Aduana have been the better outfit among the two sides in their last five encounters, winning three and losing one (W3 D1 L1). The Ogya boys sealed a 1-0 victory in their previous away trip to Berekum and will look to produce the same result on Saturday.

Prediction: Berekum Chelsea 0-1 Aduana Stars

The 2017 Ghana Premier League winners possess the needed firepower to put an end to the admirable run of Berekum Chelsea.

Ebusua Dwarfs v Dreams

Some teams have had terrible starts to campaigns and Ebusua Dwarfs have experienced one of the worst. The Mysterious Dwarfs have lost five matches on the trot and have conceded the joint highest number of goals in the Ghana Premier League so far this season (11).

They have also found the net on three occasions, only Techiman Eleven Wonders have scored less (1). They are currently at the bottom of the log for their efforts. The Cape Coast based side will look to earn their first points of the season against high flying Dreams FC.

Dreams FC have been playing well so far this season. They have lost once in five matches and are placed just one spot below top four (W3 D1 L1).

The Dawu based side have conceded the third least goals among the top six so far this season (2). Dreams however have produced the joint second lowest goal difference among the top six sides (+4) showing that they need more cutting edge in attack if they want to challenge for the title. They will aim to impress once again with a win against Dwarfs.

In their last five encounters, Dreams have been the superior side with three wins and one defeat (W3 D1 L1). Dreams are unbeaten in their last three away trips to Dwarfs and would look to keep that streak going.

Prediction: Ebusua Dwarfs 0-2 Dreams
The Mysterious Dwarfs have been far from convincing so far and Dreams will most likely pile on their misery.

Eleven Wonders v Karela United

Eleven Wonders have had a season to forget so far. The Techiman-based side boasts of the lowest number of goals scored so far this season (1), highlighting the bluntness of their forward line.

They have conceded five in return and their current tally of three points in five games (W1 L4) makes it clear that the team has huge problems in all areas of the pitch. Sure Wonders are currently in 16th place and their objective will be to earn their second win of the campaign as they play hosts to Karela United.

Karela have experienced a stop start to their campaign so far. They are four slots above the relegation zone (12th) but have a lot of work to do going forward.

The Ayinase-based club have scored only four goals in five games so far (0.8 goals per game). They have also conceded six times during that period (1.2 goals per game) showing their frailties in defence. They will hope to grab their second victory of the campaign in their away trip to Techiman.

The two teams have clashed on one occasion and the match ended in a stalemate. It will be interesting to see how this game will turn out.

Prediction: Eleven Wonders 1-0 Karela United
Eleven Wonders managed a shock win over Aduana in their previous home game and with Karela’s away struggles, this should go in favour of the hosts.

Great Olympics v Inter Allies

Great Olympics are experiencing a steady growth this season. They have earned 4 points in their last two league fixtures, a huge improvement on the three games before that (0 points).

They do however have more to work on as they aim to avoid relegation. Oly Dade have scored the second lowest number of goals so far (3) indicating that their attack needs a huge boost.

They have also conceded six goals so far (1.2 goals per game) showing the need to avoid shipping in more goals. Great Olympics are now 13th on the log and a win over Inter Allies will be a huge boost.

Inter Allies are experiencing a roller coaster campaign so far. They have earned just one win in five matches (W1 D1 L3), earning the 14th spot on the table. The goal tally of Tony Lokko’s side currently stands at six (1.2 goals per game) but the defence has performed far worse with eleven goals conceded (2.2 goals per game).

The upcoming tie against Olympics provides the perfect opportunity for the team to get their campaign back on track.

Great Olympics have struggled in the past against Inter Allies, winning once in their last four meetings (W1 D1 L2). Oly Dade will aim to change the narrative on Saturday.

Prediction: Great Olympics 1-1 Inter Allies
It is quite difficult to separate the two teams. They will likely share the spoils.

King Faisal v Elmina Sharks

King Faisal are in an early tussle with relegation after securing just two draws in five matches (D2 L3). The Kumasi-based side have also been leaky in defence, conceding 10 goals so far (2 goals per game) - the third worst tally in the league this season. King Faisal will need to produce something special to earn their first win of the season as they prepare to host Elmina Sharks.

Elmina Sharks have been average so far and their current 10th place solidifies that fact. They have earned just one victory in five matches (W1 D3 L1). The Elmina based side have scored 5 goals in five games (1 goal per game) but need to improve defensively as they have conceded one more in the same number of matches (6 goals). The Sharks will look to earn all three points in their away trip to Kumasi on Saturday.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides in the league.

Prediction: King Faisal 1-0 Elmina Sharks

King Faisal have the home advantage and will likely make it count against the Sharks.

Medeama v AshantiGold

Medeama have been one of the best outfits so far this season. The Mauve and Yellows have earned 10 points from a possible 15 (W3 D1 L1), leaving them in 3rd place. Samuel Boadu’s men have shown potency in attack, scoring the second highest number of goals in the league this season (8).

The Tarkwa based side have also shown the ability to successfully defend their home ground, winning both matches without conceding a single goal so far this season (4 goals scored). They will aim to do it again as they prepare to welcome Ghana Premier League giants AshantiGold.

AshantiGold are also in fine form despite losing to giant slayers Berekum Chelsea on matchday 5. The Miners have earned 10 points as well (W3 D1 L1) and are in fourth place. Mambo’s men boasts of a strong backline, having shipped in just one goal in the league in five games (joint second best record). The Obuasi based side will hope to upset Medeama on Saturday.

The two teams have been evenly matched in their last five meetings. Medeama and AshantiGold have won two matches apiece and drawn the other one. Medeama have however been unbeaten against the Miners in their last two home games (W2).

Prediction: Medeama 1-0 AshantiGold
Medeama has the home advantage and are likely to grab the victory over AshantiGold.

WAFA v Liberty Professionals

WAFA have had their struggles in front of goal. They have found the net four times (0.8 goals per game) and that needs improvement. They have however been solid defensively ,conceding just one goal – the joint second best defensive record in the league so far. They will aim to get back to winning ways as they welcome Liberty Professionals to Sogakope on Friday.

Liberty Professionals, on the other hand, will go into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Hearts last weekend, their first loss of the season and are now placed 10th on the log.

The Dansoman-based club are the only team to have scored and conceded the same number of goals this season (6).

Head coach David Ocloo tendered his resignation from his position after the defeat to Hearts of Oak but was convinced to stay by the club. He will hope to bounce back from that defeat in Sogakope on Friday.

In the last five meetings between the two teams,  WAFA have won three and drawn one (W3 D1 L1). They are unbeaten against Liberty in their last two home games (W2).

Prediction: WAFA 2-1 Liberty Professionals

WAFA will likely use their home advantage to get back to winning ways.

Legon Cities v Bechem United

Legon Cities have impressed in terms of catching the eyes of the public, attracting fans from every corner since the campaign began.

A difficult start to the season however sees them lying 15th on the table, just one place above the relegation zone. They are yet to secure a win so far this season which has left a cause for concern for their fans.

The Royals have scored the joint second least amount of goals this season (3), leaving Goran Barjaktarevic worried about his forward line. The team have also performed poorly defensively, conceding 7 goals. They will aim to earn their first win of the campaign against Bechem United in Accra.

Bechem United have been very good so far. They are placed sixth on the league log and boast of 3 wins, one draw and one loss (10 points).

Set to visit Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow, the Bechem-based side is booming with confidence as far as their chances of bagging 3 points are concerned.

The Hunters boasts of the third highest number of goals scored among the top six (7). Most of the laurels go to Prince Adu Kwabena who has scored 5 goals. The team however have conceded the highest number of goals among the elite bracket (4).

They will aim to continue their fine form against the struggling Legon Cities.

Bechem United have been superior between the two sides in five meetings, winning four and losing one.

Prediction: Legon Cities 1-0 Bechem United

Legon Cities were able to nullify the threat of AshantiGold in their last home game and will likely do the same against Bechem and earn their first three points of the season.
