Elmina Sharks despite their recent struggles managed to escape relegation with a narrow win over Kotoko in the final fixture and will want to prove something meaningful in the eague cup.
Hearts of Oak however, remains Ghanaian champions but have reiterated on countless occasions that, they will want to achieve the domestic double.
The Elmina-based outfit having edged out Metro Stars in the first round, were handed a very difficult game in the round 32 where they had rely on penalty shootouts to edge out first division side Tema Youth.
Meanwhile, the 'Rainbow Club' have also been outstanding in the competition, scoring eight goals in three matches already but struggled to beat second tier side FC Young Wise to cruise into this stage.

Coach Odartey Lamptey has all his players free from injury and psychologically fit and poised for the game after striving hard to survive in the just ended season.
The entire team received cash prize from their bankroller Dr. Papa Kwasi Ndoum as bonuses he promised to them if they are able to survive relegation giving them so much motivation going into the game.
On the other end, Hearts of Oak will have to reorganise themselves as they look to return to winning ways having lost their last league game against WAFA.
Coach Samuel Boadu has a strong and full squad to select from but will only miss the service of his two forwards, Victor Aidoo and their league top scorer Kwadwo Obeng Junior.
