Serie A side Genoa C.F.C have announced the signing of Ghanaian winger Joel Asoro on a one-year loan deal from Swansea City and has the option to make the deal permanent should he impress.
The former Sunderland versatile centre-forward, who had an impressive loan spell with Dutch Eredivisie club FC Groningen last season, has caught the attention of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris outfit and has added him to their ranks for the upcoming 2020/21 football season.
A statement from Genoa C.F.C over the loan signing of the talented Ghanaian winger reads;
"Genoa Cfc announces that it has acquired the right to Joel Asoro's sports performance. The team's new striker was born in Haninge, Sweden on April 27, 1999. He comes from Swansea City Afc on loan with obligation to buy back under certain conditions. He signed a contract expiring on 30/06/2023."
Since joining Swansea City from Sunderland in 2018, the former lF Bromma youth product has featured 18 times for the Swans.
Asoro's running contract with the English Championship side will expire in June 2021 and his market value has been pegged at €1.30m as per transfermarket.
The Swedish-born Ghanaian flanksman is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international stage despite featuring for the Swedish youth teams.
