I became a musician by accident – Gyakie

Jackline Acheampong, also known as Gyakie, a Ghanaian Afrobeat singer and composer, has made an intriguing disclosure regarding her career.

She said that her first professional goal was to become an entrepreneur rather than a singer.

On The Day Show with Berla Mundi, the “Forever” hitmaker explained how her career started after meeting her producer, Sosa, via a friend on the KNUST campus.

“So before I went to KNUST, I just wanted to be an entrepreneur and make money, so I studied International Business until I met my producer, Sosa, on campus through a friend,” Gyakie said.

Gyakie goes on to say that immediately after their first encounter, Sosa gave her a beat, which became her debut song on streaming sites.

She recognized she had songwriting talent as soon as she started listening to the rhythm.

Since then, the fast-rising singer has launched a string of songs, including “Something” and his most recent single, “Rent Free,” which is already creating ripples on social media.
