Asante Kotoko old players have become politicians; I can’t work with them – Coach Prosper Ogum

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum says that some of the team’s top or better still old players have become politicians and are using the media to make him play them.

He held an open and honest press conference on October 8, 2024, before his team’s league game against FC Samartex.

This season, Ogum has been very picky about which players to put on his team.

He has often left out more experienced players in favour of younger and Milo Games players’ who lack the necessary experience on the field of play.

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum explained why he chose the players he did by saying that some of the top players were not working hard enough at training grounds.

He also said that some people have become lawmakers and are giving information to their media friends to try to get him to play along with them.

“Most of the senior players are not putting in much effort at training, and that’s the reason I start the young guys who were originally not supposed to start,” he said.

“Some have turned to politicians, and they always want to get playing time by going through their friends who are journalists.

But that won’t work.
