Following feud with head coach Song, Cameroon goalkeeper Onana retires

Following his much-publicised feud with head coach Rigobert Song, Andre Onana has announced his decision to stop being available for the Cameronian national team.

Recall that based on the spat with Song which resulted in his expulsion from the Cameroon camp in Doha during the World Cup last month- this new development has surprised most soccer fans in his native country and obviously across the world.

The goalie, who participated in Cameroon’s opening match in Qatar against Switzerland, left the Indomitable Lions camp abruptly after the altercation with Song.

And my story with the Cameroonian national team has come to an end,” Onana said.

He said Cameroon remains eternal and so does his love for the national team and for the people who have always supported him no matter how difficult the moment was.

“I will continue to support (the national team) as a fan, just as the more than 27 million Cameroonians do during every match,” Onana stated, before thanking all those who trusted and believed that he could add and contribute to the team.

❤️??
