They invested in us, not paid- Gyakie makes a u-turn on the Global Citizen Festival payment

Gyakie has been quick to remedy the error she made concerning a previous publication she made online concerning that the artists, both local and international who performed at the Global Citizen Festival.

The daughter of the legendary Ghanaian Highlife artist Nana Acheampong had previously informed Giovani on the 3FM Drive on Tuesday that the organizers satisfied all monetary conditions required for her to go on the stage.

“Yes, everybody that was on the stage was obviously paid?

She wrote on her official Facebook page: “How on earth do we have a big event like Global Citizen, and you assume everything is completely free.

When I say we were paid and everyone on stage was paid, I only meant that there was an investment in the performances.”

Gyakie went on to say that their involvement aided the cause (poverty eradication)

Yes, Global Citizen did not pay us for our performances but invested in our performances and made sure the team was good and comfortable,” she continued
