2022 Commonwealth Games: Ghana 4x100 men's relay team disqualified for a technical violation (Details)

A new report just filtering indicates the men’s relay team representing the 2022 Commonwealth in Birmingham has been disqualified for a technical violation despite finishing third in heat 2 of 4×100 meters.

It was gathered that Team Ghana decided to rest Joseph Paul Amoah an hour before the commencement of the race which contravenes the game’s rule.

Before the race, it was Amoah’s name that was projected on the screen and not Abdul Rasheed Sameenu who was actually on the track.

Ghana fielded Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Barnabas Aggerh, and Sameenu, in that order.

For failing to confirm a change in the running order at least one hour to the competition, Ghana ??has been disqualified from the men’s 4×100-meter semifinals

Furthermore , the appeal of the Ghana Athletics Association’s on the issue failed

This means Ghana will not participate in tomorrow’s final.
