Some men of God are not happy about the decision of the government to start taxing churches and one of them is Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, the founder of Glorious Waves Chapel International. He’s threatened to beat up any official who comes to his church to collect tax.
when preaching a sermon, stated that he won’t pay tax to the government if they arrive at that decision to tax churches and added that, he would beat up any person who shows up at his church to take taxes from him.
In anger, he cited how one politician almost lost his life after the 2016 elections when the results for his constituency was declared but got saved because of his intervention, as he was called to pray for him and through his prayer, the person was saved.
According to him, this same person, he prayed for, now has the guts to interfere in God’s business and is spearheading the campaign for churches to pay tax.
Prophet Kobi stated emphatically that, he wouldn’t let any politician use the church for their personal gains and that if no man of God would fight against churches paying tax, he would.
Some pastors have expressed willingness to pay church taxes should such a policy be enforced.
