Nasty C’s short biography:

Nasty C (real name David Junior Ngcobo) is a rapper, producer and song writer from Durban (South Africa). He’s fast gaining waves of interest in his local music industry with his fresh sound which is setting him apart from his peers.

The twenty-one year-old cool kid started rapping at the age of nine, having been influenced by his older brother who was a producer at the time. He eventually mastered the process of music production and began adding his vocals on the beats he was making and now Nasty C is a household name in Africa.

The Origin of The Name Nasty C & His Influencers

The stage name ‘Nasty C’ was given to him by the first producer he ever worked with, and from the beginning of his rap career he’s been influenced by Hip Hop greats such as American rappers T.I, Lil Wayne, Drake, Hopsin, Kendrick Lamar as well local rappers such as AKA, Khuli Chana and Reason, who he says still inspire him because of their work ethic.

 

Nasty C Meets His Music Icon, AKA in 2013

 

Nasty C’s dream was to meet one of his idols. It was AKA who came his way somewhere 2013. Nasty C was lucky to be an opening act at the concerts during his tour dedicated to the release of AKA’ s first collection recorded at the studio. Nasty C admitted that this was one of the most unbelievable an best experiences in his career.

 

Nasty C’s Early Projects

Nasty C started with a mixtape called “One Kid a Thousand Coffins” back in spring 2013 at age 16. He goes on to release another mixtape dubbed “Price City” in 2015 which he featured artists like Breeze, Blacksun, Erick Rush, J-Arrow, SMM, Dynasty and Tantrik. Off the mixtape was his major single “Juice Back” which later spawned a remix featuring Davido and Cassper Nyovest, produced by Gemini Major. Price City mixtape had 21 solid tracks.

Nasty C’s Album

People were much anticipated about the release of his debut album “Bad Hair” on listening to the earlier launched first track from it called “Hell Naw.” The album was available on Audiomack for free. The collection got recognition from fans and his fellow rappers. Later on, in December 2016, the extended variant of the album saw the light of day. The hit “Allow” recorded with French Montana was added to the playlist.

Somewhere in the month of July 2018, Nasty C released his second studio album dubbed “Strings And Bling“. The album’s release was preceded by three singles “Jungle”, “King” and “Legendary”. Strings And Bling features guest appearances from American rapper Rowlene, Kaien Cruz, et al.

 

Some Awards & Nominations Received By Nasty C

It did not take long for Nasty C to leave his mark in the SA Hip Hop industry gaining instant clout after dropping “Price City” 2. The rapper has been awarded several accolades since entering the game with his first award being Best Freshman in 2015 at the SA Hip Hop Awards.

 

Although the rapper hasn’t been in the game for too long, he has managed to earn himself a BET nomination for best international act in 2017 when he was nominated alongside Stonebwoy, AKA, Wizkid, Davido and Mr Eazi in the Best International Act: Africa category.

What’s New From The Camp of Nasty C

Nasty C, “The African Best Rapper”, as part of promoting his album titled “Strings And Bling” in US ended up at the “This is 50” studios, where he sat down for an exclusive interview with American rapper 50 Cent. 50 Cent also gifted the rapper with his collaborative semi-autobiographical book “The 50th Law”.
