Limited Voters’ Registration: Technical issues resolved, exercise proceeding smoothly nationwide – EC

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has confirmed reports of technical challenges in the 2024 Limited Voters' Registration Exercise, which commenced on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

The commission, however, noted that the issue was resolved by noon on Tuesday, and the registration exercise is now proceeding smoothly at all registration centres.

“The Commission wishes to bring to the attention of the general public that, following our monitoring of the Voters' Registration Exercise this morning, we observed some technical challenges with internet connectivity at a number of our centres.

This delayed the start of the registration at a number of the registration centres.

Consequently, the registration exercise is proceeding smoothly in almost all the registration centres nationwide,” part of the statement reads.

It added, “The Commission will continue to monitor the registration exercise and promptly address any issues that may arise.

According to a report by adomonline.com, the registration exercise, which is for first-time voters, was delayed at the former head office of the Electoral Commission (EC) at North Ridge in Accra.
