Surge in COVID-19 cases: Ghana Health Service details what Ghanaians must do to avoid infection

The Coordinator of Risk Communication at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Joel Abekuliya, has called on the public to adhere to COVID-19 preventive measures as case numbers begin to rise.

He pointed out that regular handwashing, which also helps prevent other diseases, has been overlooked due to the recent decrease in case numbers.

The health professional also stressed the importance of consistent nose mask usage to protect health and prevent disease transmission.

In an interview with Daniel Oduro on the Lowdown aired on GhanaWeb TV, Abekuliya urged those unvaccinated to get their shots and those already vaccinated to receive a booster to strengthen their immunity against the COVID-19 virus.

Additionally, nose masks offer protection not just from COVID-19 but also from other airborne diseases due to dust.

Vaccination is paramount; it's essential to be vaccinated to combat diseases effectively and prevent severe outcomes.

The Ghana Health Service has noted a recent uptick in COVID-19 cases, according to their data.
