Expose children to benefits, implications of TVET – Dr Kyei Asamoah

Fred Kyei Asamoah, Director General of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), has highlighted the importance of exposing schoolchildren to vocational and career opportunities.

He believes that such exposure equips children to make informed choices and broadens their knowledge in their areas of interest.

"Exposing them to all the options, including the fact that learning a trade can increase your employability rate in the job market, serve as a source of income, and contribute to national development, is beneficial," he stated.

Asamoah mentioned that his organization has successfully piloted a Career Guidance and Counselling project, which is proving effective in promoting CTVET education.

"We have piloted what we call the Career Guidance and Counselling project.

He emphasized that while children cannot be forced into making career choices, it is crucial to provide them with appropriate guidance.
