I’ve seen sweet, bitter things; braved false accusations – Otumfuo thanks God on his 74th birthday

The current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has shown appreciation to God for his 74 years of life amidst various challenges he has faced over the years.

Cyprian's Anglican Church, the Asantehene, while giving thanks to God, prayed for the spirit of discernment and impartiality, motivated by the will for truth.

“While I give thanks to God, I pray that He gives me the grace to pass judgment not by looking at faces but empowers me with the grace to walk with the truth,” the Asantehene said.

Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II was born on May 6, 1950.

He ascended to the Golden Stool, becoming the 16th Asantehene, on April 26, 1999.

The 74nd birthday of Otumfuo coincides with the year-long commemoration of the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the Golden Stool.

Later on Monday night, a dinner event was held in honour of the Asantehene at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Silver Jubilee Hall located at the Manhyia Palace.
