Mahama urges the media to expose harmful activities

The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has urged the Ghanaian media to expose the harmful activities in the country.

According to him, the media has the power to expose harmful activities and inspire society and relevant authorities into action.

“Unfortunately, our media’s failure to effectively hold the government accountable for critical environmental issues such as illegal mining (galamsey), deforestation, and worsening sanitation is a matter of alarming concern,” the former President stated.

It is crucial that the media, with its power to expose these harmful activities, inspires society and relevant authorities into action,” the NDC flag bearer stated.

Mahama further assured the media of his plans to work closely with them to foster better collaboration between the government and the media.

“As a leader committed to building the Ghana we want, I am steadfast in my commitment to fostering a stronger partnership between the government and the media.

“Together with the media, we will aim to foster a more transparent and accountable framework that emphasizes sustainable development and environmental conservation.
