Murder of soldier at Kasoa: Suspect not a National Security operative - Ministry

The Ministry of National Security has dismissed social media reports that one Benlord Ababio, a suspect in the fatal shooting of a soldier at Kasoa Millennium City is a national security operative.

In a terse statement dated May 1, 2024, the Ministry asked the public to disregard all reports claiming the suspect was their staff.

The Ministry of National Security has taken note of a news item in circulation on social media that a supposed staff of the Ministry of National Security, by name Benlord Ababio, in an incident that occurred on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 at Millennium City, Kasoa, shot and killed a soldier.

The Ministry wishes to put on record that the suspect, Benlord Ababio, who is currently in police custody, is not a staff of the Ministry of National Security.

The public is therefore, urged to disregard any news item that portrays the suspect as a staff of the Ministry of National Security
