President of the Local National Union of Ghana Students at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Albert Anum says the Students’ Representative Council of the the University is working tirelessly to make sure that students who have not paid their fees benefit from the online teaching and learning rolled out by the University.

According to him, the SRC is also trying to get packages and set up funds to support some of these students who might find it difficult to pay for their fees.

Speaking on Campus Exclusive on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, Mr Anum was quick to add that those who have not been able to do their assignments, as a result of their inability to pay for their fees will be allowed to do so after payments are made and they have been enrolled.

“The SRC is in talks with management so that those who haven’t paid can get access to the e-learning platform.”

“It is a promise that those who have not done their assignments yet, when they pay their fees and are enrolled, will be allowed to do so,” he assured.

However, he mentioned that students with outstanding fees are supposed to pay a penalty of GHS 100.00.

“The issue is that if you have not paid your fees up to a certain week, you have to pay penalty, and as it stands now, the penalty is GHS 100.00. We have received calls from a lot of students who are complaining that they have money for payment but because of the lockdown in Accra and Kumasi, they have not been able to go out to pay their fees, and then it is quite worrying,” he bemoaned.
