Muntaka can't reason - Ken Agyapong

It seems the confrontation between the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and his colleague Member of Parliament for Asawase, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka will not be ending soon as the former keep being on the nerves of the latter anytime he gets the opportunity.

In a recent interview with a UK based Sources Radio and monitored by GhanaWeb, the NPP firebrand described the Minority Chief Whip as someone who does not reason.

“Looking at how far I have come in life there are some things that makes me proud of my village hometown Assin Dompim because there are some people who are very intelligent….looking at Muntaka one will see that he is a 1st class stupid….even though he is an MP, he is very stupid….because the guy can’t reason” he said.

According to Ken Agyapong, he cannot comprehend why Muntaka should recommend him to the privileges committee of Parliament for showing the picture of Tiger Eye PI member Ahmed Hussein-Suale who was later murdered by unknown assailants at Medina a suburb of Accra.

“So when a whole MP comes out to say this then you have to question where he was educated,” he added.

Mr Agyapong stated further that he is very popular in Asawase than him Muntaka because during the elections he (Kennedy) sponsored a candidate to unseat him (Muntaka) but things did not go as planned.



Background

The MPs on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, were on each other’s throat on the floor of Parliament where it nearly ended up in a fisticuff because Muntaka had requested that Ken should be referred to the privileges committee of parliament over the murder of Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

The two legislators were seen on the floor verbally assaulting each other in Twi whilst other colleague MPs tried to calm the situation by dragging Ken Agyapong out of the chamber before proceedings started.

Whilst Muntaka described Ken Agyapong as an animal and a ‘foolish good-for-nothing’, Ken vowed to make him (Muntaka) uncomfortable in Ghana. “Wo ye aboa-ba, gyimi gyimii” Muntaka shouted at Ken Agyapong.

Mr Agyapong was later found guilty of contempt of parliament by the privileges committee where the committee suggested that he (Ken Agyapong) should be reprimanded or be suspended for the rest of the session and after the house approved of the report, the choice of sanction was put to a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote, after which the Speaker ruled that a reprimand had been approved.
