Let Afena-Gyan feel he’s important- Ex-Ghana star Derek Boateng to GFA

The Cremonese striker recently, rejected a call-up to Black Meteors camp for the CAF U23 AFCON qualifiers against Algeria with many deducing that he is arrogant.

Afena-Gyan played in both legs against Nigeria that saw the Black Stars secure slot to the tournament but was denied a place in final squad for the Mundial.

After rejecting Black Meteors call-up, former Fulham midfielder Derek Boateng wants the Ghana Football Association to send a delegation to Italy to calm down nerves after an unfair treatment of Felix Afena-Gyan.

According to Derek, the Black Meteors will need Afena-Gyan if they are determined to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris.

“If the FA thinks about him and his mental issues, they have to take a plane there and talk to him so that he feels important”

“This under-23 AFCON that they want to go, they will need him if they want to win

They have to call him not on phone but by going to see him in person”
