Coach Abdulai Gazale bemoans state of pitch after Legon Cities deny Kotoko

The Porcupine Warriors trainer felt their 1-1 draw with the Accra-based club on Thursday was the result of the conditions of the pitch at El Wak Stadium.

The BetPawa Premier League holders travelled to the nation’s capital looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Medeama SC but they were held for the second time by the Royals.

Captain Richard Boadu Agadas had given Kotoko the lead from the penalty spot but the home side levelled in the second half with a goal from Alex Aso.

Speaking to StarTimes after the game, Coach Gazale said: “We came here with a mindset that we are coming to take the three points

Unfortunately, we conceded a second half goal from our opponent so we’ll take it like that because we were thinking of getting the three maximum points.

The result leaves Kotoko in sixth place, three points off the top four.

Meanwhile, the Royals remain 15th on the league table with 28 points after 24 games.
