Slavko Matic: “My players had the big wish to win Bibiani GoldStars”

Accra Hearts of Oak SC staged a comeback to beat Bibiani GoldStars on Saturday in the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League after conceding first at home, Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians conceded an early goal in the 6th minute through Kwabena Owusu, however, two brilliant second half goals from Isaac Mensah and Gladson Awako in the die embers of the encounter ensured Hearts of Oak SC were in control of the game.

A 2-1 scoreline, meant the Serbian trainer Slavko Matic picks his first win since his appointment.

Speaking after the game, Matic said his charges were willing to amass all maximum points from Bibiani GoldStars SC.

“Very important that we won and the way we wanted to play, you saw Gold Stars from the first minute they started wasting our time”

Matic admitted that his charges were under pressure prior to playing against Gold Stars.

“But after the goal we immediately changed formation from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2, the most important thing is the win for my players”
