Nigeria captain Ahmed Musa attributes former teammate Daniel Amartey's Leicester City woes to managerial changes

Nigeria international forward Ahmed Musa has attributed Daniel Amartey's struggles at Leicester City to managerial changes at the club.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian player has struggled for playing minutes under Brendan Rodgers since he took over as manager of the Foxes.

The Northern Irish trainer replaced Claude Puel in February 2019 as manager of the Premier League side.

Amartey was nursing an ankle injury when Rodgers took charge.

Amartey has since struggled to break into Leicester's first team after returning from the injury he suffered in 2018 which sidelined him for almost a year.

"It's not about your performance,"

Musa, who played together with Amartey at Leicester between 2016 to 2018, told Juliet Bawuah in an Instagram interview.

"As you can see like my friend Daniel from Ghana, as you can see he played a lot of games at Leicester but nowadays he is not playing, so are you going to say he is not performing well?

"Why was he playing then and why is he not playing now.

"So like I said, different coaches [see] the way you play [differently], some like the way you play, some don’t like the way you play. The only thing is to have another better place to go."

Amartey is expected to leave the Foxes in the summer in search of game time and has been linked with a move to English sides Sheffield United, Fulham, and Newcastle United.

The versatile footballer made nine league appearances for Leicester in the 2018-19 season before being forced to the treatment room.
