The Local Organizing Committee for the 2018 Africa Women’s Championship are accusing the FIFA Liaison team of 'sabotage and hijack', just three months to the start of the continental tournament.
The LOC say the two-man Liaison team have been undermining the committee in the most ridiculous manner which has triggered anger among members of the committee.
The head of the Local Organizing committee Freda Prempeh has accused the team of clandestinely working against the team.
She claims the committee has informed the continent's governing body of the country's unpreparedness to host 2018 African Women's Championship in the West African nation - a move which has infuriated the committee.
“I had found out that the Liaison Team had written to CAF over our inability to host the African Cup,” Prempeh said.
“But we are still working towards delivering a good tournament and work is still ongoing at the various sites.
“It was therefore shocking to learn that such a letter was sent to CAF without recourse to the LOC or the Ministry.
“The Liaison Team wrote this letter to CAF without putting us or the Ministry in copy and I don’t think it is the best.”
