Olivier Giroud has revealed that his “last dream as a footballer” is to lift the Premier League trophy.

Moving to the Blues from Arsenal last January, the Frenchman capped off the season by lifting the FA Cup and then helping his country to World Cup glory in Russia.

Winning the FA Cup three times during his spell with the Gunners, the closest the 32-year-old came to lifting the league title was when Arsene Wenger’s side finished 10 points behind Leicester City in the 2015/16 season.

With Chelsea an astonishing 30 points off league champions Man City last season, they are certainly in with a shout this season following a promising start under Maurizio Sarri.

As a number of players in the Chelsea dressing room have lifted the title in the past, Giroud has revealed that he is a “bit jealous” of some of his teammates.

“I prefer to be at a big club rather than playing every week in a less prestigious team and I still have targets,” he told the Guardian .
