(WATCH VIDEO) Stop Giving Old Men's Role To Young Actors - Veteran Actor Cries Out

is a BIG joke and you don’t need to be a creative arts person before you can see it. Unlike Nigeria where acting roles are given to deserving actors, especially the roles of the aged assigned to the older men and women, it’s never so in Ghana’s Kumawood.

How can be playing the role of an 82-year-old man in a movie whilst there are old and experienced veteran actors who fit those roles? That’s a BIG joke!

Now veteran Ghanaian actor, George Appiah Kubi is on point for saying that Ghanaian film producers should emulate Nigerian film producers by assigning older men’s role to the old Ghanaian actors and actresses.

The veteran actor, George Appiah Kubi in an interview on Adom FM’s reporter during the final funeral rites of the late actor, “Super OD” said:

“You only become an adult if you want. Nigerian producers don’t recruit young guys for old men roles. They use their old experienced actors. Here, young guys dye their hairs the colour white and they are good to go…”.

He added that the old-aged actors and actresses charge less than the younger actors and actresses and that he sees no reason why movie producers opt for these younger folks instead of them.

“The young men charge a lot of money; it’s some of the producers who have made these things a habit. It’s really disturbing and painful. We the old men need to be featured in movies. The Nigerians are not neglecting theirs. We should do the same…” he concluded.
