Man arrested for 'sexually abusing' three step-daughters

Police in the Central Region have arrested 37-year-old Abraham Tetteh, for allegedly having sex with his three stepdaughters aged 16 years, 18 and 20 years respectively.

He is a resident of Mbaa Mpe Hia, a suburb of Twifu Darmang near Twifo Praso.

He was charged with incest, illegal abortion and seduction, the Central Regional Police, PRO Irene Oppong said.

Speaking to Citi News, DSP Irene Oppong explained that on January 29, 2018, Police in the Central Region had information that the accused, Abraham Tetteh, has had sexual intercourse with the three girls, and had even gone to the extent of administering an abortion pill to one of them after she got pregnant.

“He attempted to abort the pregnancy of the 16-year-old girl after she got pregnant,” DSP Irene Oppong noted.

According to the Regional Police PRO, the Police acting upon a tip-off proceeded to Twifo Darmang Palace where the elders of the town had met on the issue and arrested the suspect who upon several interrogations confirmed the act.

“He admitted to having sexual intercourse with all the three girls,” the Police PRO explained.

He again admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girls both at home and in the bush, DSP Irene Oppong explained.

Abraham Tetteh is now assisting the Police in investigation.

“The three girls have been given Police Medical Form to go to a government hospital and report back to the Police,” Madam Irene Oppong noted.
