Anti-LGBTQ+ bill: Supreme Court didn’t delay Richard Sky’s case – AG

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has rejected claims that the Supreme Court delayed in hearing Richard Dela Sky’s application seeking a declaration that the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, commonly known as the anti-gay bill, is null, void, and of no effect.

.

“That impression [that the hearing delayed] is misinformed and this is actually one of the matters that has been heard early!

He added that the Supreme Court hears cases based on its schedule and expressed his appreciation to the Chief Justice for allowing media coverage of the hearing.

“The Supreme Court hears cases taking into account the schedule of the court and the business the court has and all that and so there is nothing that has delayed this matter and as I said, the most important thing about this matter is the transparency.”
