Paramount Queenmother of Gomoa Akyempim condemns landguard activities in Gomoa East

The Paramount Queen mother of the Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area, Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa, has strongly condemned the reign of terror and land guard activities in the Gomoa East District, following the tragic shooting of a military officer, Lance Corporal Michael Danso, in Gomoa Fetteh on April 30, 2024.

In a statement released on Monday, May 6, 2024, Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa expressed her concern over the ongoing challenges of land guards in the Gomoa East District, particularly in the Twafo Division under the Gomoa Fetteh Stool.

She called on the National Security Agencies to handle these threats and restore tranquillity in the area and also urged the media to investigate and expose any misconduct with regard to any land dispute.

The paramount Queen mother also advised individuals engaging with Chiefs in the Area to verify their legitimacy with the Registrar of the Traditional Council to avoid involvement in irregular activities.

“Moreover, the ongoing challenge of land guards in the Gomoa East District, particularly the Twafo Division under the Gomoa Fetteh Stool of our Traditional Area, is exacerbated by the indiscriminate conferment of Chieftaincy titles and offices by the destooled Omanhen, Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobia II, at his private residence
