Central Region: Bullion van escapes robbery attack in Gomoa Dominase

Another bullion van has been attacked in Ghana.

The recent one occurred at Gomoa Dominase in the Central Region on Thursday, June 17, 2021, just three days after a similar incident happened at Jamestown in Accra.

The van was attacked on the Accra-Winneba road by persons suspected to be armed robbers.

Citi News understands that the incident happened around 4:00pm on Thursday, 500 meters away from the Okyereko police station.

The robbers reportedly placed pieces of leaves on the highway as if an accident had occurred on the stretch, compelling the bullion van driver to slow down.

In the process, the robbers opened fire at the vehicle. However, they were unable to stop the van.

They fled after the failed attempt and run into a nearby bush.

Although the windscreen of the bullion van was damaged, no casualty was recorded.

The bullion van is currently at the Winneba Police Station.
