Yendi: Farouk Aliu Mahama donates 1,000 bags of sugar to Muslim community

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, the Member of Parliament for Yendi, has donated 1,000 bags of sugar and assorted items to the Muslim community in his constituency.

The gesture is aimed at supporting Muslims within the constituency to carry-out their month-long Ramadan fasting.

The donation was made to Imams, Mosques, women and youth groups, opinion leaders and chiefs, party faithful, political figures, elders and the less privileged in and around Yendi.

The fasting period is considered as one of the pillars in the Islamic calendar.

This year’s Ramadan comes at a time the country is fast recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alhaji Farouk urged all Muslims to endeavour to use this holy period to pray for wisdom and grace for President Nana Akufo-Addo to help him continue to provide better leadership for the country.

He also urged all Muslims to share the little they have with others.

The MP has over the years supported his Muslim brothers and sisters during the holy month.

He has assured to continue to assist in order to maintain the good relationship he has with the Muslim community and Ghanaians as a whole.

He also wished the Muslim world a fruitful fasting period.

Alhaji Farouk also urged Muslims in Yendi to continue to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the municipality and in Dagbon.
