National Security trying to fabricate pink sheets in Techiman South – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) claims National Security operatives are trying to forge constituency results sheet for Techiman South in the Bono East Region.

The party maintains that its candidate, Christopher Beyere won the seat although the Electoral Commission has declared otherwise.

The opposition party is also yet to produce evidence that backs its claims.

“I am told that National Security has sent operatives to now try and manufacture pink sheets, bribe persons, fake documents and so on,” the NDC General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia said at a press conference on Thursday evening.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia further urged its supporters in Techiman South to remain vigilant.

“Techiman South should stand firm and protect their election results and put your hearts at ease. We have all the pink sheets for Techiman South.”

He also unveiled their Techiman South candidate, saying he was the MP-elect despite no declaration having been made.

Results on the ground showed that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah had beaten Mr. Beyere in the election.

The declaration of Mr. Korsah’s victory led to agitations from NDC supporters.

One supporter was killed by a stray bullet from police officers trying to take control of the situation.

One other person is also in critical condition while six others have sustained gunshot wounds.

The NDC is also disputing the presidential election results.

It is refusing to recognise the incumbent President, Nana Akufo-Addo as the rightfully elected President.

Nana Akufo-Addo won the presidential vote with 6,730,587 (51.302%) votes so far handing him re-election.

John Dramani Mahama came second with 6,213,182 representing 47.359% of the vote.
