Chief remanded for allegedly killing NDC youth organizer

The Obaatan of Gomoa Kweikrom in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, Nana Arko Ashilo, has been remanded by the Awutu Breku Magistrate court presided over by Judge Joseph Bahomey, for allegedly being involved in  the murder of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC)  Youth Organizer for the area, Prince Mensah.

According to the court, the chief organised some thugs who beat up the newly elected NDC Organizer to death, and dumped his body at Potsin junction to give the impression he had a motor accident.

It will be recalled that news of the NDC Youth Organizer went viral about a month ago.

The Chief has been remanded into police custody for a month, pending further investigations.

The Awutu Breku District Police Commander, ASP Paul Ankrah, confirmed the arrest on Eyewitness News, said another suspect who’s reported to have mentioned that they were hired to kill the deceased has also been remanded.

He however said the chief has so far denied the allegations.

“We detained all the suspects after which we had to remand them in police custody to continue with our investigations. We were given 24th of next month to reproduce the accused persons.”

He said investigations are ongoing to arrest other culprits involved.
