Speaking at the handing over of the project to the community, President of Sunyani East Rotary Rotarian Eric Adu Gyamfi was happy about the impact the project would make in the lives of the children in the community.

“The source of this great feeling should emanate from the opportunities the children and people of Nkrankrom will derive from this life-changing project. This beautiful edifice you see here was made possible through a Rotary Foundation Global Grant through the Rotary Club of Sunyani East and its international Partners. A total Grant Value of USD 97,000.00 was approved for this project. This project is 100% funded by the Rotary Foundation, Rotarians and Rotary Clubs across the world,” Rotarian Adu Gyamfi noted.

He also commended the construction firm Aguafields Construction Limited for doing a good job and also all Rotarians for their support towards the project.

“The Rotary Club of Sunyani East and Nkrankrom are eternally grateful to past Rotary International Vice President, Anne Matthews for donating handsomely towards the realization of this project. It will not be out of place to have the School Christened PRIVP Anne Matthews Nkrankrom D/A Bsic School. The Rotary South Carolina District 7770, your invaluable support towards this project shall be forever remembered. Our appreciation knows no boundaries.“

The queen-mother for the area, Nana Atta Yaa praised Rotary Club and its supporters for bringing the project to the community.

“This community was founded 140 years ago, by the grace of God, this is the first time we are seeing such a project. I want to thank the DCE and everyone who has supported this project. I want to advise my people that there is no village anywhere so they must take good care of their children as they prepare to go to school. The men must support in taking care of the children as well. The DCE is my daughter if I had not taken care of her she would be where she is today,” Nana Atta Yaa said.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tain District, Madam Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh commended the Rotary Club Sunyani East and all Rotarians for their support.

Madam Dwommoh also indicated that teachers would be posted to the school and assured that the Food Feeding Programme would be introduced in the school to boost enrolment.
