Embrace new basic school curriculum – Gomoa East MP to teachers

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa East, Kojo Asemanyi has urged teachers to embrace the new basic school curriculum introduced by the government.

According to the MP, the new curriculum is innovative and analytical and will help the ordinary Ghanaian child think outside the box.

“It is a bold decision this government has taken,” he said.

“The Akufo-Addo Government has taken the bull by the horns so I think teachers must also embrace the new curriculum to help mother Ghana,” the MP added.

He believes that the introduction of the new curriculum will enable the ordinary Ghanaian student to match up with other students across the globe.

“We cannot use the old curriculum for contemporary learning and expect that we get result for tomorrow that will be beneficial for this country,” the Member of Parliament for Gomoa East said.

Speaking to Citi News in an interview, Kojo Asemanyi explained that the American child is more analytical, innovative and forthright as a result of the learner based curriculum they are exposed to adding that the Ghanaian child can now match up to the standards of the  American child because of the introduction of the new curriculum.

“We should not pretend that anytime we discuss our education, we know that we are not up to the standard and that the American child is more analytical, innovative, and a critical thinker,” the MP explained.

He indicated that the government is ready to implement the new curriculum adding that the ordinary Ghanaian child will be ready for the job market with the introduction of the new curriculum.

“With the introduction of the new curriculum, I know there are challenges but I can say on authority that the New Patriotic Party government is ready to incur whatever cost to make sure this project is  successful,” Kojo Asemanyi stated.

“I just want to say to the teachers that in the implementation of anything, there are challenges and I know the challenges they are going through. I have seen on Facebook issues with food and transportation but that will be sorted out soon,” Kojo Asemanyi added.
