How Can A Whole Pastor Support LGBT Activities? – Kweku Bonsam

Discussions surrounding LGBTQ+ have dominated the headlines for weeks now. Currently, there is a bill before Parliament seeking to criminalize the activities of LGBT. Many Ghanaians are in support of the bill though a small others feel that the bill will infringe on the rights of people. The bill is set to see serious debate in Parliament in November. The 2 caucuses in Parliament have however assured Ghanaians that they will not support any activities related to LGBT.

On Onua Maakye, Captain Smart interviewed Evangelist Freeman of the Methodist Church on his views concerning LGBT issues. According to the evangelist, he is not gay but will not force others to also stop it. He cited an example that if that he will advise his child not to indulge in homosexuality but if the child feels that what he/she is doing is right, then he will leave that child to their own way.

Kweku Bonsam who was in the studio however disagreed. With a plethora of biblical scriptures, he wondered why a whole pastor can come and encourage people to practice LGBT. He noted that wrong is wrong and should in no way be justified. He raised the point that every good father must continue to teach the child the right way and not abandon them like the pastor was saying.

At one-point Captain who was the mediator couldn’t hold back his words as he wondered why a pastor will choose to say that he will leave his child to do what he/she wants if the child doesn’t listen to advice. According to the evangelist, if the LGBT community fail to heed to advice they need to be left to their own ways. Kweku Bonsam however insisted that the activities of LGBT was bound to bring disorder and calamity upon God.

To worsen things the evangelist mentioned that Ghanaians only pretend about things of God and there no one truly serves God in Ghana.
