Man dies ‘mysteriously’ on SC compound after election petition verdict was read

A yet-to-be-identified man has died after the Supreme Court delivered its verdict of the 2020 election petition.

According to reports in the local media, the man who collapsed while the second respondents were addressing the media and was given first aid.

But he died few minutes after and was seen been carried out by the police on the premises of the Supreme court.

It’s not clear if the outcome of the election petition caused his death or not.

The Supreme Court after weeks of listening to arguments from the Petitioner and Two respondents delivered its verdict today.

Reading the verdict, the Chief Justice indicated that the issue brought before it lacks merit and therefore has been dismissed.

He indicated that the second and third witnesses did not help the case of the petitioner and they should therefore blame themselves for abandoning their duty of representing the petitioner at the strongroom of the electoral commission.

The Chief Justice also indicated while delivering the verdict that from the cross examination of Asiedu Nketia, there was no doubt that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the legitimately elected President of Ghana garnering more than 50% of the votes.
