Some of the artiste who performed at the event included Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Fancy Gadam, Great Ampong, Diana Asamoah, Lucky Mensah and others.

“I can say that they are not being paid for this,” the Communications Minister told JoyNews’ Becky.

Her comment comes after many social media users said the money used to put the GH Covid-19 Tracker App launch together including paying the artiste could have gone into supporting the fight against coronavirus.

Ghana gov’t is alleged to ve paid Gh¢100,000 as appearance fee in a virtual concert subscribed by less than 800 viewers. Other artistes got Gh¢40,000 meanwhile, gov’t is struggling to provide enough PPEs 4 health workers. Worrying

Did we just waste our money on a useless app and on top of that held a virtual concert for for it,please we need an explanation honorable minister, please how does the app works, these are the concerns raised by some Ghanaians

However, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said with the outbreak of the coronavirus, the country could not afford to give any artiste a dime.

“Government is spending lots of money trying to contain this virus, our economy and all our projections are down because of what is happening.”
