Jack Dorsey: No questions for Twitter CEO in Nigeria

Journalists in Nigeria have expressed disappointment after no questions were permitted at a meeting with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Mr Dorsey arrived in Nigeria on Thursday, beginning a month-long trip to Africa during which he will also travel to Ethiopia, Ghana and South Africa.

BBC Nigeria correspondent Mayeni Jones said reporters were informed that a question-and-answer session with the Twitter CEO would not go ahead on Friday.

She said there appeared to be a mix-up, with press not supposed to be invited to the event.

Instead, Mr Dorsey had his photograph taken and left.

Hilarious. Media in Lagos were told to come meet twitter CEO at 7.30am. We’ve been corralled into a room and and hour and half later a PR says we’re not to leave and not to speak with him. Not a waste of time then

In comparison there was way more media access during Zuckerberg’s visit two years ago. I mean the man went jogging on the streets of lagos. No mean feat.Article share tools
