Lambert backs Afriyie

A senior adviser of Fox Sports Africa and founder of Setanta Africa and SuperSports, Barry Lambert, has thrown his weight behind George Afriyie, a Ghana Football Federation (GFA) presidential aspirant.

Mr Lambert believes Mr Afriyie is a tried and tested character who will be very much capable of handling the GFA with the finesse and dexterity needed to make it a global soccer institution.

“Having very successfully worked with you on the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations in Cape Coast, I believe you will be just the right person to take over the leadership of the GFA and move Ghana football forward into a new era,” he told the GraphicSportsOnline in an interview via email yesterday.

He expressed his delight at the fact that Mr Afriyie is contesting for the position and wished him the best of luck.

The GFA elective congress comes off on October 25 after a year of turbulence following Ana Aremeyaw Anas’ revelation of corruption and financial malfeasance at the GFA.
