Journalist fires Dan Kwaku Yeboah

One of the sports journalists who benefited from government sponsorship to Egypt for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Tophic Abdul Kadir Sienu has fired the Spokesperson of Normalisation Committee, Dan Kwaku Yeboah for he insisted that they will continue to speak up about the outrageous budget adding that the fact they were sponsored to Egypt meant they sold their conscience to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“In any case, the Sports Ministry did not take us to Egypt because they wanted to keep our mouths shut. I don’t think that’s why the Minister supported some journalists there.

I was taken there by the Sports Ministry but I didn’t go to Egypt to sell my conscience. I went there to work. And that doesn’t block my sense of reasoning”, he said in a post sighted by MyNewGh.com.

Dan Kwaku Yeboah claims journalists who were sent to Egypt by the Sports Ministry should keep quiet because they have no moral right to speak about what they were part of.

That’s a complete fallacy.

So because we enjoy free education in Ghana, if our hospitals and roads are not good, we should keep quiet because we are enjoying free education? What kind of thinking is that? asking them to shut up.

In any case, the Sports Ministry did not take us to Egypt because they wanted to keep our mouths shut. I don’t think that’s why the Minister supported some journalists there.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs take journalists on assignment when traveling. The journalists do not come back and tell us Ghana is better than America.

Ministry of Gender travel with journalists abroad on assignment, they don’t come back and tell us concocted stories because they were sponsored there.

It happens even in the presidency. Do u know about the presidential press corps? Find out. They do same for them but they don’t return to concoct lies.

I salute the Sports Ministry for the initiative and will even request for them to support me again next time but that will not stop me from doing my job and speaking when I have to speak.

Honestly, people don’t understand the difference between being grateful for a gesture and working professionally. It will not make me a replica of Dan Kwaku Yeboah. Never!!!

I am Sheikh Tophic Sienu
