Man who burned his son’s feet for eating his stew jailed

The Assin Fosu District Court presided over by his Lordship Samuel Djanie Kotey has sentenced Mr. Edward Boafo to 1-year imprisonment with hard labor for burning the feet of his 5-year-old son for eating his stew.

The 33-year-old man burnt the foot of his 7 tear old son Kwame Boafo for allegedly eating the family stew on Val’s day.

Police prosecutor Inspector Gilbert Ayongo told the court that, on the 14 February 2019, Mr. Boafo returned from work to see that the stew that was to be eaten by the family in the evening had already been eaten.

He, therefore, suspected his five-year-old son of committing the ‘crime’ which the poor boy denies knowing anything about the whereabouts of the stew.

The prosecutor said, he, therefore, held his leg on fire with the hope that the boy might speak the truth and ended up burning his foot.
