Practically, marriage is not beneficial to men – Kojo Yankson asserts

Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Kojo Yankson has asserted that, from a practical standpoint, marriage may not be advantageous for men.

Speaking on the LynxPlay Podcast, the media personality challenged  traditional notions surrounding marriage and raised questions about the perceived benefits for individuals, particularly men, within marital unions.

He also challenged the widely-held belief that marriage primarily benefits men.

According to Yankson, the financial advantages of marriage for men are doubted at best.

He explained that modern marriages come with complex responsibilities and expectations that can sometimes outweigh the perceived benefits, especially for men.

Kojo Yankson, went on to argue that from a practical standpoint, it’s difficult to quantify how marriage significantly benefits men compared to the benefits it offers women.

“If I am being practical and I’m assessing things based on a simple cost benefit cases, it is hard to see how marriage benefits a man especially if you are comparing it to how its benefits a woman,” he said
